Windows 8.1 connection issue resolved
As of 3/25, All DuqNet systems are now Windows 8.1 accessible.
Following an update from our wifi vendor, DuqNet has been accessible with the Win8.1 devices that were having issues accessing it following the Feb. 10 Windows update.
We expect new Windows Updates to be released on April 14th, and don't have reason to believe they will impact our wifi authentication.
The pilot Clear Pass solution is still in place as is the Guest Wifi account that was put in place as a workaround for authenticating to DuqNet. CTS plan's to leave these solutions in place throughout finals as to not interrupt student's activity.
We have changed our recommended solution(s) for connecting to DuqNet following the vendor fix on 3/25:
Recommended Solution 1
Connect to DuqNet. As of 3/25, All DuqNet systems are now Windows 8.1 accessible.
Once Win8.1 devices connect you will be prompted for username and password, you will enter your MultiPass credentials at this point and should successfully connect.
Recommend Solution 2
CTS has opened an additional wifi connection in a pilot phase, called DuqNet-CP. Connection to this new wifi is the same as it is for DuqNet. Once Win8.1 devices connect you will be prompted for username and password, you will enter your MultiPass credentials at this point and should successfully connect.
Recommended Solution 3
If this DuqNet-CP wifi connection does not work for your device, please contact the Help Desk and we can assist you in connecting your device to our Guest Wifi temporarily.
Recommended Solution 4
At this time, we no longer recommend that you turn off or rollback Windows updates. If you have already performed this Windows update rollback fix, and can still connect, please do not change your settings. If you can no longer connect, please try connecting to DuqNet.
