A major Banner upgrade is currently underway from our current version 8, known as "INB," to version 9.
Banner is a campus-wide system encompassing the University's primary systems for our Student, Advancement, Finance, Human Resources, Payroll, Student Accounts, and Financial Aid records. Currently, Banner comprises two components: Internet-Native Banner (INB), which is used for daily transactional processing, and Self-Service Banner (SSB), which is used primarily for data retrieval and viewing. This Banner 9 upgrade impacts only INB. An upgrade for SSB will be scheduled later in the year.
The Banner 9 upgrade will deliver a new user interface. The traditional Banner "forms" in INB will be replaced by a web application, referred to as "Admin Pages." The way the system works will remain the same. Navigation in the new web environment is the primary change of this upgrade
What You Need to Know
On March 21, 2018, a Banner 9 icon will appear next to the INB icon in DORI. On June 3, 2018, the INB icon will disappear. End-users are strongly encouraged to use the time between March 21 and June 2 to work in Banner 9 and become accustomed to the new navigation.
Note that both icons (Banner 9 and INB) point to the same database, so data entry should happen using only one interface or the other. Both icons point to LIVE production data in the Banner environment.
FOR QAS ADDRESS VERIFICATION SOFTWARE USERS ONLY: You should only make address changes in INB/Banner 8 between March 21 and June 2. Work is underway to adopt an address verification solution for the Banner 9 environment. This web page will be updated as new information is available.
Timeline at a Glance

Training and Resources
Banner 9 General Navigation training will be offered with hands-on learning opportunities. Log on to DORI to access MyLEAD to view and register for Banner 9 - Admin Pages General Navigation training. Click on the Quick Tour Video below for a glimpse of Banner 9.
In addition to training, end-user documentation is available. Begin with the Getting Started Guide, and use the Keyboard Shortcuts to learn new navigation keystrokes. The Moving from Banner 8 to Banner 9 guide is specific to Duquesne and will assist you with general navigation. In addition, specific module owners have updated end-user documentation for campus users. Log on to DORI and visit the Banner channel to access module-specific user guides and resources.
