Charles Bartel

Charles R. Bartel, Assistant Vice President/CIO. As AVP/CIO, Chuck Bartel is responsible for the overall management and strategic planning for all University IT services including administrative computing, centralized infrastructure, and a variety of technology support services including enterprise reporting, telecommunication services, and information security. CTS is comprised of three directorates that provide computing and technology services to the Duquesne University community.

Chuck participates on the following committees: Member - Joint Council, Member - Palumbo-Donahue School of Business Information Systems Management Advisory Council, Member - Academic Computing Committee, Member - Enterprise Computing Committee, Member - Research Computing Strategy Working Group

Non-DU Committees: Member - EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR), Communications Infrastructure and Applications Working Group, Member - Greater Pittsburgh CIO Group, Member - Pittsburgh Premier CIO Forum Advisory Council.

Don Maue

Director, Computing Support Service

Don Maue

Don Maue is responsible for providing the customer service front end for all campus technology. The Computing Support Services Team is comprised of the HDI certified Help Desk, Dell, HP, and Apple certified Technicians, The CTS Computer Store, and the CTS Computer Lab staff. The Computing Support Service Team provides consulting, and support for the entire University community on all aspects of integrating technology in to the scholastic, research, business, and social dimensions of the University.

Don participates on the following committees: Enterprise Computing Committee (ECC), Educational Technology Committee (ETC), Student Life Director's Team, Library Operations Committee, Law School Technology Strategy Committee, Journalism Multimedia Arts Curriculum Committee, and FAST Planning Committee

Sheryl Reinhard

Director, Systems, Operations, and Network

Sheryl Reinhard

Sheryl Reinhard is responsible for the implementation and operation of all technology infrastructures, which includes data center, service monitoring, network, telecommunications, servers, storage, backup, recovery and related software. The IT Infrastructure Services Team is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security for all IT systems and infrastructure. The team provides consultative services and solutions by working closely with cross-functional business areas, Tech Partners and other IT groups.

Tom Dugas

Director, Information Security/New Initiatives


Tom Dugas

Tom Dugas is responsible in his information security role developing and overseeing a comprehensive, unified information (cyber) security program for Duquesne University that includes detection, prevention, incident response, and cyber security awareness. As part of Tom's role with special initiatives for Computing and Technology Services he is also responsible for leading and managing the Identity and Access Management and Data Governance initiatives.

Tom participates on the following committees: Tech Partners, Business Managers Council and Incident Response Team (Lead).

Robert Goffeney 

Director, Administrative Applications



Robert Goffeney

Robert Goffeney provides leadership to the Administrative Applications group, responsible for development, maintenance and support of a comprehensive system and services portfolio, including the Banner ERP suite, CRM, housing support, data analytics and reporting, document management, the university portal and website, business process improvement and project management. The Administrative Applications group is organized into three teams, providing database administration and business intelligence, programming and development, and web development and administration services. All Administrative Application group members work closely with campus and external colleagues to provide the highest level of service to students, faculty and staff.

Bob participates in the following committees: Tech Partners; Enterprise Computing Committee (ECC); Enrollment Management Group; Business Managers Council.
