Spiritan Pedagogy

Building Authentic Relationships Across Campus and Beyond

Across campus a growing number of faculty, graduate students, and administrators are reflecting on the idea of a Spiritan pedagogy. What are the hallmarks of Spiritan pedagogy? Are particular methods and practices particularly suited to Spiritan pedagogy? How does Spiritan pedagogy align with current innovations in education? How does it compare with the pedagogical approaches found in educational settings that are animated by other religious charisms, for example Jesuit or Marianist? What institutional conditions are conducive to Spiritan pedagogy?

The conversation continues this academic year. This year's theme, Building Authentic Relationships Across Campus and Beyond, is particularly intended to bring together those who are looking to deepen our community and understand people whose experiences are different than theirs.

Duquesne faculty and staff are welcome.
