What does it mean to build authentic relationships in communities closest to campus? We will explore creating sustainable and collaborative partnerships at this interactive event. Using a speed-dating format, attendees will visit three stations. Participants will spend time interacting with faculty and staff of Duquesne University and getting acquainted with staff and services at Blind and Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh (BVRS). Faculty, staff, and students will have the opportunity to explore how they might collaborate with BVRS in mutually beneficial ways. The goals of the event are to foster educational and civic opportunities for Duquesne and BVRS, learn about Duquesne's Spiritan-inspired approach to community-engagement, and build community.
This event is open to faculty, staff, students, and community members.
Attendees can walk to the venue, which is 5 minutes from campus. BVRS is located across from Mercy Hospital. A shuttle departing from and returning to Union circle will also be available.
The shuttle will depart at 11:50 a.m. and return at 2:10 p.m.
Lunch will be provided. Kindly RSVP to email@example.com and indicate any dietary restrictions. If you would like to take the shuttle, please indicate this as well. If you are a faculty member who plans to bring students please indicate the total number of attendees.
