Conversations in Ethics Education

Teaching and Learning Virtue in the Undergraduate Classroom

We are pleased to announce a series of inter-disciplinary conversations about ethics education during the 2016-17 academic year. The series builds on colloquia offered across 2015-16 as part of a externally funded grant project. “Conversations in Ethics Education” seeks to promote the quality of ethics teaching, related research, and broader opportunities for collaboration among ethics educators at Duquesne. Series facilitators include Dr. Elizabeth Cochran, Dr. Eric Vogelstein, and Dr. Darlene Weaver.

All faculty, graduate students, and staff are invited to explore what it means to teach ethics in the academic context of an undergraduate classroom. Our first lunch gathering will facilitate collaborative reflection by encouraging participants to share pedagogical strategies or assignments that have been effective in their courses.  Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to ccit@duq.edu. Please indicate any dietary restrictions.
