Orientation for Faculty and Teaching Assistants
The Center for Teaching Excellence offers programs to welcome and orient all who are new to the teaching community at Duquesne, as well as colleagues who are making the transition to a new role (e.g., moving from adjunct or TA to full-time faculty).
Below are the programs that we typically offer. Click here for the 2012 Orientation Schedule.
All new faculty receive a copy of the current Faculty Resource Guide.
The Adjunct Faculty Orientation is held in August and January.
The purpose of the full-time faculty orientation is to prepare faculty to thrive in teaching, serving and conducting research in the context of the Duquesne University Mission.
Full-time faculty orientation is usually held the Monday before classes begin in August.
Additional luncheons and brunch throughout the year include: meeting President Dougherty, promotion and tenure with Provost Pearson and experienced faculty, teaching and learning, the core curriculum, and service-learning.
