Duquesne's Creative Teaching Award has three criteria: scope of involvement, innovativeness, and evidence that the innovation resulted in student learning. In this session, Lucia Osa-Melero and Carmen Martinez will present their award winning project, "Reading to Play Playing to Read: A Community-Engagement tool to revitalize studies of Spanish." Laurel Willingham-McLain, the award review committee chair, will provide Creative Teaching Award tips. She and Marcia Rapchak will outline the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) model on which the award is based. Participants will receive a copy of last year's winning submission as well as guidelines for the 2018 Creative Teaching Award.
