- Union 109
Presenters: James Purdy (Writing Center and English), Julia Salehzadeh and Janine Carlock (ESL Program), Jerry Stinnett (First Year Writing and English)
Facilitated by Erin Rentschler (CTE)
This session is designed to help instructors increase their knowledge and effectiveness in using writing to learn activities when teaching students for whom English is not their first language. Faculty and staff from the ESL Program and the Writing Center will facilitate a discussion to provide information about these students and the resources available to them. Participants will leave with practical strategies for engaging with and improving the educational experience of ESL and non-ESL students alike. Participants are asked to complete a brief pre-workshop questionnaire to assist the presenters in finding focus areas for the session.
