Academic Procession and Regalia Information

Thursday, Sept. 22
3 p.m.
Participants arrive at Bayer Learning Center and Mellon Hall

All Duquesne University faculty and staff, as well as delegates from other colleges and universities, are invited to participate in the academic procession. The procession will begin on Academic Walk, travel past the Mary Pappert School of Music, move onto Magee Street, and then into the Palumbo Center.

Members of the academic procession must arrive to the following locations no later than 3 p.m.:

  • Delegates from other colleges and universities will line up in the Maurice Falk Lecture Hall lobby of Mellon Hall
  • Faculty and staff will line up in the Laura Falk Lecture Hall lobby of Mellon Hall
  • Deans, members of the Board of Directors and Corporation, and other platform party members will line up in the rotunda of the Bayer Learning Center

Signage and university staff members will be on hand to assist in directing guests to the proper locations.

In case of inclement weather, the academic procession will be contained within the A. J. Palumbo Center, and all participants will robe and line up in the auxiliary gym.

Regalia

All individuals participating in the academic procession are required to wear academic regalia. You may wear your own regalia or rent it through the Duquesne University Bookstore - 412.434.6626.

All orders are due by Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016.

Your rented regalia will be available for pick-up in the Mellon Hall lobby beginning at 2:30 p.m. on the day of the inauguration.
