Integrative Learning and The Departments: From My Work to Our Work

Workshop Description: Research has shown that employers are most concerned that graduates possess high levels of learning across a set of essential learning outcomes. Indeed, that achieving these learning outcomes is as important as the students' major field of specialization. Research also has shown that student learning is deepened and sustained over time when the curriculum is laid out coherently, outcomes are clear, and students apply their learning in conjunction with faculty guidance throughout. With this in mind, the chairs workshop will begin with the familiar logic models for design and curriculum mapping for coherence and integration. Participants will have the opportunity to work with their own major curriculum (or the Core Curriculum) to examine how their own learning outcomes are achieved for all of their students.
