"The advisors and staff of the PBPMP gave me excellent guidance and most importantly, support for what has been the most important educational endeavor of my career -- getting into medical school."
-- Kathryn Koncsol, non-traditional pre-med student
Advising and Support
While rigorous and challenging, the atmosphere for post-baccalaureate pre-medical students at Duquesne University is supportive and positive. The PBPMP is a small and selective program with 20 to 50 students enrolled each semester.
All students receive direct guidance from their advisor on selection of course work, gaining volunteer experience, preparation for the MCAT or other appropriate admissions test, and completing the application process.
The PBPMP office also provides a composite letter of recommendation on behalf of qualified students, which incorporates any supporting letters of recommendation.
