Aaron Pisula currently serves on the faculty of the Mary Pappert School of Music as Ensemble Librarian and Assistant to the Director of Orchestral Activities. A previous appointment at Duquesne was as a resident artist, where he performed with and coached students in various aspects of the Ensemble Department. In 2013, he was a semi-finalist for a librarian position with the "President's Own" United States Marine Band. In addition to his work at Duquesne, Aaron is also a versatile trombonist, performing throughout the southwestern Pennsylvania region. He is currently principal trombone of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra, lead trombone with the Trinity Jazz orchestra, and the bass trombonist of the Mon Valley and Washington Jazz Orchestras. Also active in chamber music, he has participated in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition with the Iron City Brass Quintet. Other highlights have included performances with the Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, members of the Pittsburgh Symphony, and the vocal ensemble Il Divo.
