Dr. Dodson is a licensed school counselor.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of William and Mary, a Master of Education degree in school counseling from Cambridge College, and a Doctor of Education degree in Counseling Psychology specializing in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University.  Her dissertation explored the multicultural competence of school counselors.  Her professional and research interests include multicultural counseling competence, social justice and advocacy, and school counseling.  Before accepting a faculty position with Duquesne University, she was a high school counselor with Charlottesville City Schools for five years.
