Marie Panas joined Duquesne University School of Nursing as a visiting instructor for the 2015-2016 academic year. Earning her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing Education from the School of Nursing at Duquesne University, she is currently a DNP candidate at Carlow University.
Ms. Panas is a practicing nurse at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Emergency Department. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association. Her interests focus around pediatrics, emergency medicine, and critical care. The research for her doctoral studies will have an emphasis on pediatric patients.
In addition to Ms. Panas' passion for pediatric nursing, she embraces an innate desire for teaching and helping to create a positive atmosphere where students are encouraged to focus on the core values of nursing. Ms. Panas employs alternative teaching styles within the classroom while engaging student's critical thinking.
