Sean Tierney joined the faculty in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where he served as a Teaching Fellow and research assistant for 6 years while working on his doctorate and earning his M.A. in Research Methodology. A graduate of Duquesne University, he received his B.A. in Mathematics and B.S. in Secondary Education in 2005. In addition to teaching introductory statistics courses, his past and current research interests include evaluating the validity and reliability of standardized test results, issues related to performance assessment, and linking and equating test forms.
