2013 Emerging Women's Leadership Conference Attendees

March 5-7, 2014

The Emerging Women's Leadership Conference provides high-potential women with an opportunity to develop their business and leadership skills. The conference offers a distinct development experience that fosters the leadership capacity of each woman, thus enhancing her ability to create and sustain long-term growth within her organization.  Instruction, break-out work, presentations to supervisors and speakers fill three meaningful days for the participants and their companies.  Gretchen Haggerty, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President, United States Steel Corporation, (pictured with the participants and instructors) served as keynote speaker for the celebratory luncheon on May 17th, 2013.  Ms. Haggerty utilized quotes from people who have inspired her; to encourage the participants to focus on personal integrity, the rights of all and to forge purposeful interaction in the workplace and the community.

Recent studies have indicated that women now comprise almost 50 percent of the American labor force. Many of these women are young, college-educated professionals who are motivated to build a long, successful career. These women are striving to become the business leaders of the future.

Signature Candidates

The Emerging Women's Leadership conference is designed for women who are identified as highly motivated and promotable, eagerly waiting for increased responsibilities, or keenly interested in the business. Most candidates should have two to seven years of professional experience. More experienced professionals who would benefit from a leadership development conference may attend. Although organizational structures vary, candidates may be individual contributors, assistant managers or front-line managers.

Featuring Consultant Ginny Berger

Virginia (Ginny) Berger is founder and principal of Partners for Performance, a strategic consulting organization that has assisted over 40 businesses and educational organizations align people, processes, technology and products with strategic business goals. Ginny has extensive experience in leadership consulting, coaching and development, strategic business planning, change management, key issues resolution, process re-engineering, performance management and organizational development.

Ginny has held high-level management positions with both a Fortune 500 company and a national social service organization. For the past 15 years, Ginny has worked as a business performance and planning consultant. Ginny has also served as an adjunct instructor for Duquesne University's Graduate School of Business. Ginny received both master's and bachelor's degrees from Duquesne University. She also has completed post-graduate work in the fields of organization development, leadership, coaching, counseling and administration.
