Classroom to Community

Students discover a higher purpose for statistical analysis. By integrating service‐learning into her curriculum, Dr. Amy Phelps and her students have collaborated with three community partners who serve diverse populations in need. Students applied statistical analysis, gathered data and provided proof for how the non‐profits could benefit from operational changes. The hands‐on process bridged technical learning with real‐life experiences.
