Ryan Garvey is a Professor of Finance and Chair of the Department of Finance and Economics at Duquesne University. He has published numerous articles in both leading academic and practitioner finance journals including: Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Empirical Finance, Financial Analysts Journal and Journal of Portfolio Management. He received the Outstanding Scholar Award from Duquesne faculty in 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009, 2007, and 2006. Professor Garvey has also taught both graduate and undergraduate finance courses to native students in three countries: Ireland, Singapore, and U.S. He received the Kurt Rethwisch Outstanding Teacher Award from Duquesne students in 2009. Dr. Garvey has held various full-time and consulting related positions with financial firms.
