Professional MBA (evening and online, part-time/full-time), MS-ISM and MAcc

Below are the deadlines for submitting the Online Application, all supporting documents and GMAT/GRE/TOEFL/IELTS scores. We will complete the review of your application after ALL requirements have been received.

Official Transcripts

Duquesne students: All transcript requests must be made through our transcript request page.

Transcript Request

Other university/college students: You can contact your school's registrar office to have the official documents sent directly to us. If your school is able to send electronically, please send your transcripts to grad-bus@duq.edu.

Resume

After you submit the Online Application, you will receive an email directing you to our Supplemental Document Portal for uploading resumes and other documents.

GMAT/GRE Scores

Entrance Exam - You must sit for one (1) of the following exams:

Send a copy of your official entrance exam scores to the Donahue Graduate School of Business at Duquesne University. Neither the student's copy nor a photocopy is acceptable. Entrance exam scores must be sent directly from MBA.com to Duquesne University.

Recommendations

Two professional recommendations must be provided as part of the application process. Recommendations must be from former professors or supervisors who can evaluate your potential for graduate study. After your Online Application has been received, you will be directed to a Supplemental Document Portal where you can enter the contact information for both recommenders. The recommendation form will be sent electronically to each of them from this site.

Foreign Language Exam Information

International students must also submit the following information: official TOEFL or IELTS scores, Duquesne University Affidavit of Support form completed in full and submitted together with required officially certified statements of financial resources available to support your education (see estimates of costs for an academic year available from the Office of International Affairs), and official transcripts in English. Uncertified photocopies cannot be accepted. Send all application materials to the following address: Donahue Graduate School of Business, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA  15282.

Duquesne's institution code for the TOEFL is 2196. The department code is 02. We require a TOEFL score to be taken within 12 months (one year) from the time of appliation. Please refer to www.ets.org for more information.

We also accept IELTS exam scores.  Please refer to www.ielts.org for information on sending official scores to Duquesne University.  The minimum score for IELTS is 7. 

Essay

Please include on a separate sheet an essay that addresses the following:

  1. MBA and MS-ISM Applicants (limit your responses to 250 words for each question):
    1. A summary of your academic and professional background, your present situation, your motivation for pursuing a graduate business education and your future goals.
    2. What strengths you bring to the program.
  2. MAcc Applicants (limit your responses to 250 words for each question):
    1. Why are you interested in pursuing a MAcc degree?
    2. How will Duquesne's MAcc degree help you to achieve your career goals?
    3. How has your background prepared you for the challenges of graduate business study?

    After you submit the Online Application, you will receive an email directing you to our Supplemental Document Portal for uploading essays and other documents.

    Additional Requirement for International Students

    In general, international students must have a four-year bachelor's degree. Certain three-year degrees may be acceptable.  Please contact the graduate office for verification.

    International students may also wish to contact the Office of International Affairs at Duquesne University for such items as I-20 forms, etc.

    Admission Decision

    You will be notified by mail of the admission decision. Admission decisions are not released over the telephone. If you are admitted, registration information and an evaluation of your academic background will be mailed to you. You will be notified of the admission decision no later than three weeks after your John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business application is completed.
