Mary Jo Dressel
COO for HR at BNY Mellon
Mary Jo Dressel is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Human Resources (HR) at BNY Mellon and a member of the Company's Operating Committee and the Pittsburgh Executive Committee. In her role as the COO for HR she leads a global team responsible for operations, technology, mergers & acquisitions, vendor management, customer service and information delivery.
Prior to her current role, Ms. Dressel was the co-head of the HR PMO for the integration of BNY and Mellon HR products and services where she was responsible for HR integration planning and executing, expense management and reporting of progress to the Merger Integration Committee.
Ms. Dressel started with BNY Mellon in the Operations group in 1986 where she ran a one-person technology help desk providing support for 1800 employees. In the following years, Ms. Dressel managed warehouse operations, customer service, collection operations and Skip Trace for the Retail Bank and created metrics and redesigned and improved business processes across the Trust businesses. Prior to becoming the co-head of the HR PMO Ms. Dressel was the Deputy Project Manager for the Employer of Choice People Strategy and after joining HR she managed a group responsible for recognition programs, metrics, communications, research and business recovery.
In 2014, Ms. Dressel was named to the board of directors for the BNY Mellon Foundation of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
In 2016, Ms. Dressel joined the Palumbo-Donahue School of Business Advisory Council at Duquesne University.
Ms. Dressel is a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, has an MBA in Finance from Duquesne University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and has a Master Certificate in Six Sigma from Villanova University.
