Inspire a Resource Revolution
Robert Sroufe, Ph.D., is an industrial ecologist and the Murrin Chair of Global Competitiveness. He teaches the sustainability courses and co-teaches the live consulting courses that anchor the MBA Sustainability program, orchestrating students' application of cutting-edge theory and models, tools and processes from across the curriculum.
A finalist for the Aspen Institute's "Faculty Pioneer" award in 2013, Dr. Sroufe received the University's Creative Teaching Award and the Decision Sciences Institute's Instructional Innovation Award for development of the signature courses in the MBA Sustainability. In his classes, students perform Life Cycle Analyses, engage architects and construction managers in making work space productive, and interface with thought leaders on Integrated Bottom Line (IBL) reporting, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and the clean energy frontier.
Professor Sroufe earned his MBA and a Ph.D. in Operations Management from Michigan State University. He has authored and edited numerous supply chain books. His articles on environmental management systems, design for the environment and green purchasing are widely published in top journals, including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management, the International Journal of Production Research and the Journal of Supply Chain Management.
