School of Business Cosponsors Darwin Day with Bayer School

The School of Business is cosponsoring this year's Darwin Day with the Bayer School. This year, John Gowdy, Ph.D., Rittenhouse Teaching Professor of Humanities and Social Science, Department of Economics, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will speak. Dr. Gowdy's lecture will focus on the history of the cross-fertilization of ideas in economics and biology, the abandonment of biology and psychology by economists that came with the "marginalist revolution," and the return of evolutionary thinking in contemporary economics. The lecture will be held on February 17, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the Power Center Ballroom.
