From Bill Spangler, Associate Dean, Academic Affairs & Research
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the undergraduate program of the Palumbo Donahue school of Business. We believe our school is a special place. While we are a progressive, nationally-ranked business school, we also are a school where classes are small, our faculty members know our students, and the teaching of ethics and social responsibility are inherent in our mission and our everyday lives.
Business students entering the workforce face an increasingly complex and challenging environment. The key to success in this environment is a multi-faceted, practical business education that includes not only the fundamentals, but also a broader understanding of the role and impact of business on society. In this respect, we are guided by the realization that being a better business person also means being a better person.
We also provide a strong focus on international business and the challenges of an increasingly-interconnected global economy. Our students have the opportunity to participate in a vast array of short-term and semester-long study abroad opportunities with our partner institutions overseas.
And there is so much more. For example, our beautiful campus is an oasis, sitting on a bluff within easy walking distance of the corporate hub of downtown Pittsburgh. This means that students have convenient access to numerous internship opportunities while also having the opportunity to interact and network with corporate executives.
So I invite you to explore the opportunities here at Duquesne, not only through our website, but also by visiting our campus and speaking with our faculty, advisors and students. We would be delighted to share more of the story of Duquesne with you.
