About the School of Education
Welcome to the School of Education at Duquesne University where we have a rich history of preparing leaders for more than 75 years! Our faculty come from all over the world and have earned their degrees from some of the best universities in our country. Their research is cutting edge and has earned them national and international recognition. They have published numerous books and peer-reviewed manuscripts, and received numerous grants and awards.
Their teaching is rigorous and will challenge you in ways that will impact the rest of your life. Our school offers a myriad of undergraduate and graduate programs, ranging from Teacher Education to Counselor Education to School Psychology to Instructional Technology to Educational Leadership, all of which are accredited to ensure that you receive the best education possible that reflects national standards associated with the profession.
This past year we have restructured some of our programs to make them more cutting edge, and thus more attractive to prospective students. Our M.S. Ed in Educational Studies now offers a concentration in Classroom Assessment and our Ed.D. program in Educational Leadership has been totally redesigned, and now incorporates a process of continuous improvement. Our new Ph.D. program in Special Education has completed its first full year of implementation and with its international focus is adding diversity to our students' experiences, as well as bringing best practices from the US to international audiences.
At Duquesne, we educate the mind, body, and spirit of our students and we would love to have you come and join our family!
