Conversations with the Author Welcomes Dr. Sonia Nieto

Duquesne University School of Education’s Sizemore Urban Education Initiative is pleased to announce Dr. Sonia Nieto as a visitor to the University on Thursday, January 20 and Friday, January 21, 2011. Dr. Nieto will come to share her expertise and reflections in “Conversations with the Author” concerning her books that we have been reading on educating diverse learners. The Sizemore Book Club is currently reading Dr. Nieto’s book, The Light in Their Eyes. Duquesne University’s Leading Teaching Program in Urban Education currently has a cohort of students who have been reading her publication Why We Teach. |

Dr. Nieto’s book Affirming Diversity: The Sociopolitical Context of Multicultural Education is next on our list of books that every teacher should read. Our “Conversation with Dr. Sonia Nieto” promises to be a very exciting event here on the Duquesne University campus. |
