Equitable Mathematics Classroom and Observation Tools (EMCOT) Symposium/Conference

Through a grant from the Spencer Foundation, Dr. Melissa Boston (Duquesne University) and Dr. Jonee Wilson (North Carolina State University) hosted the Equitable Mathematics Classroom Observation Tools (EMCOT) symposium at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA, on March 9-11, 2017. The conference brought together over 40 scholars from across the country with expertise in: 1) equity in mathematics teaching and learning; 2) mathematics classroom observation research; and 3) educational measurement. Scholars from these backgrounds pulled from their respective fields to investigate classroom practices that support equity and access to high-quality mathematics instruction.
