NASA Experience for Instructional Technology


Beyond the Millennium Adventure - Kennedy Space Center

  • Join participants in the Program in Instructional Technology for an exciting 5-day program at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida, usually held the third week in July.
  • This is a 3-credit program that may be taken as an elective or to satisfy your IT Practicum requirements.
  • You must have completed GILT 511, GILT 512, and GILT 513 to be eligible to participate in this experience.
  • Utilize the Astronaut Memorial Foundation’s educational materials and supplies in their updated curriculum center.
  • Develop your instructional skills as a teacher with this academic, character developing, once in a lifetime experience.
  • Tour NASA research and aeronautical facilities at Cape Canaveral.
  • Enhance your cross curriculum planning capabilities.
  • Share your curriculum ideas and goals with fellow teachers, national educators, and even the astronauts!
  • Enjoy late afternoons and nightlife at Cocoa Beach and its surrounding amenities.
  • Enjoy evening Dairy Queen excursions with Dr. Carbonara.
  • Shopping at Ron Jon’s Surf Shop.
  • The approximate cost of this experience, in addition to tuition, is $1000.
