Assessment and evaluation of the Duquesne University Professional Development Schools Collaborative is integral to its functioning. Data are being collected from the inception of the implementation phase. An evaluation plan is presently being developed.

The evaluation plan will have two prongs. The first prong will collect candidate outcome data. This will take place near the end of spring semester each academic year; pre-service candidates will submit segments of their fieldwork products to be evaluated. The second prong will take place near the beginning of fall semester each academic year. Faculty members (both P-12 and higher education) will complete an instrument that describes their conception of the PDS activity and the LTP.

In addition to the above described formal evaluation plan, formative data is collected regularly. This is used for continual improvement purposes.
