* Due to capacity constraints admission will be extremely limited for all programs - in many semesters we do not admit transfer students.

** Due to capacity constraints we only consider first-time freshman to the Physician Assistant Studies program. We are not accepting transfer or second-degree applications at this time.

In order to apply for admission, the following items must be submitted:

  • An application for admission
  • A transfer form.
  • An official high school transcript. For Physical Therapy applicants, Standardized Test Scores are also required (SAT or ACT).
  • Official transcripts of all previous college work.
  • Applicants must submit a typed, double-spaced, critical self-evaluation essay discussing: (1) why you became interested in the field and the program for which you are applying; (2) general work experience and any other experiences you wish to share; (3) honors you have received; (4) long-term professional goals. Competitive essays demonstrate an awareness of the field and are usually a maximum of three pages in length.
  • A complete summary of all health care experience in the applicant's field of interest (if applicable). Please see the application (page 2) for more details. Feel free to use our Experience Summary form.
  • The $50.00 application fee.

Additional requirements:

  • All RSHS students will be expected to perform certain physical, mental, and emotional tasks in order to complete graduation and professional requirements as measured by state and national certification, licensure and registration processes. Information about these performance indicators can be found here. This information is also available to students in the RSHS Academic Student Handbook.
  • Applicants to the Speech-Language Pathology program who wish to be eligible for state teacher certification as a "Teacher of the Speech and Language Impaired" must include copies of syllabi from any prior education coursework.
  • Applicants to the Speech-Language Pathology program should submit documentation of any supervised observation and/or clinical hours that meet ASHA certification requirements.

The following grade averages are required for each program:

  • 3.0 GPA for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Language Pathology
  • 2.75 GPA for Athletic Training and Health Management Systems

Only classes with a "C" grade or higher may be considered for transfer.

Your application is not considered complete and will not be reviewed until you have submitted all of the above information.
