Anna Voelker, MHA, is currently the Administrative Director of Ambulatory Care for UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Hospitals in Pittsburgh, PA. Anna began her healthcare journey at Duquesne University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Health Management Systems in 2007. She then attended the University Of Pittsburgh Graduate School Of Public Health obtaining a Master of Health Administration in 2009. Post graduate school, Anna pursued a post graduate residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore Maryland focusing in hospital operations, and thereafter settled back in Pittsburgh as an Operations Manager at UPMC before beginning her role as a Director. Anna is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health in the Department of Health Policy and Management.
Anna visits Duquesne annually to speak to current HMS students about professional development and next steps for their careers post-graduation, as this is something she has a passion for. "I was very blessed to have great mentors at Duquesne as well as in my internships at UPMC Hamot and The UPMC Cancer Centers while a student at Duquesne, and I am passionate about giving that type of mentorship back."
"Duquesne University is a special memory of mine that I am loyal to and enjoy being involved with now. This university is serious about preparing students properly and ensuring we are ready for the work world and/or Graduate School as a next step. I felt very prepared while at Pitt pursuing my MHA because of the excellent education and professional development skills I obtained at Duquesne University."
