During my four years in the HMS program at Duquesne, I completed internships in a variety of healthcare settings, including the Donald Wolf Quality Center at UPMC, Mercy Hospital HR and the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force. After graduating from the HMS program in 2012, I continued my education at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health, receiving my MHA in Health Administration and Policy.
During the two year program, I was involved in multiple university organizations and committees, volunteering opportunities, and professional societies. I completed a one year administrative residency at The Children's Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Family Center where I collaborated with senior management on a variety of projects and completed the 2013 Community Health Needs Assessment for the organization. Upon graduating from my masters program, I stayed on at The Children's Home of Pittsburgh as a Human Resource Associate until January 2015 when I accepted the position of Operations Coordinator of Physician Practice Groups at Heritage Valley Health System.
Over the past few years I have been involved with the Jewish Healthcare Foundation and have completed the Patient Safety and Jonas Salk Public Health fellowships. I am a member on the Junior Board for Every Child Inc, and volunteer with Strong Women, Strong Girls, Our Clubhouse, and Jamie's Dream Team. I don't believe that I would be where I am today if it weren't for the great foundation that the HMS program laid out for me, and I hope I can continue to build on as my career advances.
