Course Description
This course introduces the student to the body of law that affects patient care decisions and the doctor-patient relationship. The course explores the formulation of the doctor-patient relationship and the resulting legal and ethical responsibilities, liability issues, the role of health care institutions, and the impact of payment arrangements on doctor-patient relationships. This course is also the prerequisite for Health Care Organization and Finance. (2 credits)
