Ethical Education for Any Professional

The Master of Science in Leadership, concentration in Business Ethics (MSLB) program was developed in response to feedback from employers and managers who indicated a healthy demand for ethical skills and values in today's complex global marketplace. Students enrolled in the program build a broad-based skillset to complement their existing business or technical training. MSLB students are typically professionals from a wide variety of industries and career levels including:

Business Ethics Program Core Focus

The MSLB program trains students to apply ethical practices in everyday business activities. The program accomplishes this by enhancing students' views of themselves as leaders and increases their sensitivity to ethical challenges at work. Students gain extensive knowledge of ethical theory through the study of topics including:

  • Information, organizational and global ethics
  • Workplace diversity
  • Legal issues
  • Conflict resolution
  • Additional ethics subjects

Curriculum

The MSLB curriculum addresses ethical theory as well as application of ethics and leadership in the business environment. Courses include global ethics, information ethics, leading people and managing relationships, conflict resolution and organizational ethics.

Program Structure

These 36 credit master’s degree programs are available entirely online.  As a student you'll have access to learning resources and support services including the Duquesne University Library, online writing center, and contact with faculty and advisors.  You’ll join a peer-learning network of people from the community and corporate, nonprofit, government and military sectors. As a graduate you’ll join a network of more than 86,000 active alumni located around the globe.

The academic year is structured with three semesters per year: a 15-week term in fall and spring and an eight-week term in summer. If you take two courses for the fall, spring and summer semesters, the degree can be completed in two years.

The Master of Science in Leadership, concentration in Business Ethics is also offered in Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County and Moon Township, PA.

Learning Community

You will learn about organizational design and development; strengthening the overall societal impact of individuals and organization; nonprofit governance; and creating powerful community change toward a sustainable future.  Current students include: nonprofit consultant, executive director, grants administrator, case manager, director of development, academic advisor, and alumni director.
