How to Apply

Prospective students interested in the Media Arts and Technology M.S. Program should complete their applications and submit all required documents by the specified deadlines. Only completed application files will be considered for review by the Graduate Committee.

Complete Application File Deadlines:

January 30: Early Application Deadline
Early application is encouraged especially for those applying for a Graduate Assistantship. Completed applications are reviewed by the graduate committee upon receipt.

August 1: Final application deadline to start in a Fall Semester
November 1: Final application deadline to start in a Spring or Summer Semester

Application Materials:

Master of Science in Media Arts and Technology requires the following from all applicants:

  • Application Transcripts 
  • 3 letters of reference
  • GRE score
  • Self-Nomination Letter
    • In your self-nomination letter, please indicate the concentration (Digital Media, Media Management, or Web Design and Development) in which you would like to study and which semester (Fall, Spring, Summer) you intent to start the program. 
    • Your letter should address your reasons for pursuing a graduate degree in Media Arts and Technology; how you would contribute to the program; and a description of how your interests, activities, and work relate to the program.
  • One or more of the following:
    • URL
    • Portfolio
    • A writing sample

Certificate in Media Arts and Technology requires the following:

  • Application Transcripts
  • Self-Nomination Letter
  • Electronic Portfolios (URL or CD)

Application Process:

All applications to graduate programs within the McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts follow the same online application process through Interfolio. Please read about the process carefully, and begin your application on the McAnulty College How Do I Apply? page.

INTERFOLIO SUBMISSION
When you are ready to send your materials via Interfolio:

  1. Choose "New Delivery"
  2. Type "Duquesne" in the search bar, (found at the bottom left).
  3. Choose "All Grad School Applicants"

If you are still unable to make the submission please contact Interfolio at 1-877-977-8807.

Other documents (such as DVD's, portfolios that cannot be submitted electronically) can be mailed to:
