Double Major: History and Women's/Gender Studies
Major in History with Second Major in Women's and Gender Studies (WSGS)
1.) Student must meet all current History requirements, 30 credit hours, for the major.
2.) The student will take the following 24 credit hours in WsGS:
• WSGS 200: Exploring Women's and Gender Studies--3 credit hours
• Electives in at least four disciplines--21 credit hours
a. Students must take at least two courses each from the Humanities and the Social Sciences.
b. Students must take at least one course on feminist or gender theory, such as "Feminist Philosophy," "Gender Theory," or "History of Feminist Thought," at the 300- or 400-level (taught in any department of the College and approved by the WSGS Center).
c. Students must take at least 15 credit hours above the 200-level, at least 9 credit hours of which must be taken at the 400-level.
d. Students may count toward the major one internship via Career Services that deals with women or gender, with the approval of the WSGS Center.
e. Directed Readings: Students may seek permission from the WSGS Steering Committee to take no more than one directed reading course for credit toward the second major.
