Minor in Political Science

Five Minors Available:

  • New! National Security & Civil Liberty

  • American Politics & Policy

  • International Politics

  • Law & Politics

  • Political Science

Requirements

  • 15 credits of political science courses from approved lists.

  • Multiple political science minors permitted; double count one course appearing on multiple lists of approved courses for each political science minor.

  • For most majors, up to six-credits from another major may count towards political science minors, with approval of the political science chair.

  • For International Relations majors, up to nine credits of cross-listed POSC/IR courses may count towards political science minors, with approval of the political science chair.

  • For International Security Studies majors, up to six credits of cross-listed POSC/IR courses may count towards political science minors, with approval of the political science chair.

  • Good standing as a Duquesne student.

Minoring in political science is great preparation for law school, graduate schools in public policy or international affairs, and careers in business, teaching, government, homeland security, and more.
