As of the 2016-2017 academic year, any Duquesne student obtaining a degree in a school other than theCollege of Liberal Arts will be recognized on their transcript as having earned a secondary major in the College if they complete all of the following:

  • The Duquesne University Core Curriculum
  • The core curriculum of the school in which their primary major resides
  • The curriculum requirements of their primary major
  • The curriculum requirements of their secondary major in the College of Liberal Arts

Students who are interested in adding a secondary liberal arts major should contact their academic advisor for additional information.  A list of academic programs that the College offers can be found here.

Note: this is not a dual degree program.  Students from other schools will earn a liberal arts major without earning a BA or BS from the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts and thus will not need to fulfill the College of Liberal Arts Core Curriculum.  However, students can choose to obtain a dual degree by satisfying the College of Liberal Arts Core Curriculum in addition to the requirements of their secondary major in the College.
