Equipment and Labs
The department has a variety of equipment available for student checkout for projects, including video cameras, still cameras, audio recording equipment, and tripods. Students will be required to complete a form and bring their student ID to reserve and checkout equipment. Equipment must be picked up and returned during posted hours.
The department has three primary labs available for use - 205 College Hall and 345 College Hall for PC software, and 336 College Hall for Mac Software.
The labs can be accessed after class hours on a 24-hour basis using your ID card. Cards are activated at the beginning of each semester. It usually takes two weeks for your card to become activated on the door.
The 205 lab also makes use of a MediaSite recording system, allowing users to view the class live or later.
Requesting Card Access
To gain access to the lab, you will need to provide your Duquesne ID Card number during the first week of class to your instructor, or bring your card to Sally Richie at 341 College Hall. Each semester the doors are reset.
