Graduate Assistantship Application Information

A limited number of assistantships are available in the Department of Journalism and Multimedia Arts. These awards are assigned on a competitive basis to full-time, Journalism and Multimedia Arts, graduate students. Assistantships are awarded for the following areas: faculty research assistants, teaching assistants and assisting in the administrative office.

With this award, Graduate Assistants may receive up to 9 credits of tuition remission for the fall and spring semester. Additionally, graduate assistants receive a stipend for each semester they are awarded the graduate assistantship. Appointments, which are made after the applicant has been accepted for admission, are for a period of one semester. Reappointments are made for subsequent semesters based on demonstrated competence and satisfactory academic performance. Graduate Assistants must maintain an overall grade point average of 3.50.

Deadline to apply for these assistantships:

March 1st for the Fall semester
October 1st for the Spring semester
