If you haven't studied Latin, or haven't studied Greek, you can here at Duquesne University. These language courses can be taken both by those who have already studied classical languages at school and by those who have not yet had the opportunity to learn Latin or Greek.
If learning languages isn't your main interest, the department has courses to suit you too. There are courses in ancient literature, ancient history and ancient archaeology for you to choose.
Minors or Education Cognate Areas
The department also offers a minor in Latin; in Greek; or in Classical Civilization with courses in Greek Civilization, Roman Civilization, Archaeology, Ancient History and Ancient Art and Literature.
The department maintains a collaborative arrangement with our School of Education which can allow a student to graduate with both a B.A. degree from the McAnulty College, a B.S. degree from the School of Education and also with Pennsylvania certification in Latin.
