Application Checklist


Undergraduate Freshmen and Transfers

  • Apply to Duquesne University
    Admission to the Mary Pappert School of Music requires provisional acceptance to Duquesne University.  Along with the university application, students will also submit official transcripts (high school or other colleges/universities attended) and official SAT or ACT scores. Provisionally accepted students will receive an official letter of acceptance from Duquesne University.  In that letter, students will be invited to register for an audition at the Mary Pappert School of Music.

  • Register to Audition
    The Mary Pappert School of Music utilizes an online platform, Accept'd, to schedule auditions, communicate with students, and collect the documentation required for admission (3 letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and any required digital media). Students must create an online profile on the Accept'd online portal. Audition requirements vary depending on the degree and instrument for which students are applying. Students that have successfully passed their audition will receive an official letter of acceptance from the Mary Pappert School of Music.

    *International applicants: All application materials and documentation (transcripts, letters of recommendation, statement of purpose) must be provided in English. Also, international students applying for a student visa must submit an affidavit (in English) from a financial institution documenting the applicant's ability to finance their entire education and living expenses while in the United States. If governments or parents supply financial support, an affidavit certifying the amount to be furnished must be included. Currency must be translated into United States dollars. Learn more.

Master of Music

  • Apply for Graduate Studies
    All graduate applicants must create a Duquesne University online profile to apply for graduate studies. Applicants must also submit official transcripts from each institution attended including any attended during summer sessions, regardless of whether credit was received. Please ask the registrar of each college or university to send official transcripts to:

    *Non-native English speakers must provide TOEFL or IELTS scores. International applicants may also provide an International Credential Evaluation such as ECE or WES, but it is not required.

  • Register to Audition

Students must create an online profile on the Accept'd online portal. Audition requirements vary depending on the degree and instrument for which students are applying. Students that have successfully passed their audition will receive an official letter of acceptance from the Mary Pappert School of Music.

    In order to be considered for an award, the application for graduate assistantship must be completed in addition to the application for graduate admission. The application for graduate assistantship must be submitted no later than April 1, 2018. For full consideration, we recommend completing the audition process and submitting the application for graduate assistantship by March 2, 2018.

Artist Diploma

  • Apply for Graduate Studies
    All Artist Diploma applicants must create a Duquesne University online profile to apply for graduate studies. Applicants must also submit official undergraduate and masters degree transcripts covering all studies (completed and in-progress) from each institution attended including any attended during summer sessions, regardless of whether credit was received. Please ask the registrar of each college, conservatory, or university to send official transcripts to:
