Register for your Audition

The audition requirements for undergraduate applicants can be found here. Graduate applicants should prepare for the audition the equivalent of a senior recital for undergraduate performance majors. 

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR YOUR AUDITION

NOTE: Applicants who wish to audition for more than one instrument should follow the link to register for the audition on the primary instrument and then contact us at musicadmissions@duq.edu or 412.396.5983 to notify us of the intention to audition on a secondary instrument.

Undergraduates Only: If you intend to audition for more than one major (Music Education and Performance for example) please select one major and register and then contact us at musicadmissions@duq.edu or 412.396.5983 to add the second major to your record.

Recorded Auditions

 If you are unable to attend a live audition you may submit a recorded audition.

To facilitate the submission of recorded auditions we offer a service called DecisionDesk which will allow you to upload the recordings directly to us through our web site. Please follow this link to upload your recorded audition - https://app.decisiondesk.com/clients/duquesnemusic/apply  When completing the DecisionDesk application you should select "Recorded Audition" in the Audition Information field.

MUSIC TECHNOLOGY - ELECTRONIC COMPOSITION APPLICANTS 
Students applying to enter the Electronic Composition track of the Music Technology degree program must submit a digital portfolio through DecisionDesk consisting of three notated examples of their best original compositions. Please submit PDFs of scores. Digital recordings (aac,aiff,m4a, mp3, wav, wma, avi, m4v, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, vob, wmv, mkv) or sequenced examples (standard MIDI file format 1 for general MIDI instruments) of the compositions are optional but recommended.

In addition, applicants should submit a short essay describing their goals as a composer.

IMPORTANT - When completing the DecisionDesk application you must select "Recorded Audition" in the Audition Information field in order to upload any digital files.  If you are planning to complete a live audition and interview (for undergraduates) or a live interview (for graduates) then you must ALSO select Audition Registration to request an audition/interview date.  Undergraduates, if you cannot attend a live audition please include your instrumental audition recording when uploading your media.  Graduate applicants, if you cannot attend an on-campus interview arrangements for a phone or Skype interview can be made.
