WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Hollis & Germann Music and Duquesne University present a hands-on approach to basic emergency repairs for brass, woodwind and percussion instruments. The goal of this two-day workshop is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge needed to decipher performance problems with musical instruments and make simple, but skilled repairs that remedy those problems. Participants will also leave the workshop with an understanding of the types of services provided by a comprehensive repair business.

WORKSHOP TOPICS

  • Woodwind pad replacement and mechanical adjustment
  • Key cork and neck cork replacement
  • Water key repair
  • Valve alignment
  • Drum head replacement and tuning

FEE & PAYMENT INFORMATION

The workshop fee of $395 includes a comprehensive kit of tools and materials for basic instrument repairs.
