The most fundamental of the basic sciences, Physics seeks answers to the most intrinsic questions in nature. Physics opens new and often unforeseeable paths to the future of knowledge and technology.

Individual Attention and Mentoring

Addressing the individual needs of our students is our top priority. In addition to a Bayer School academic advisor, each student is assigned to a Physics faculty mentor who guides the Girls Rock Sciencestudent in his or her program choices.

Our small class sizes create vast opportunities for students to receive individual attention from the faculty.

The Department provides facilities and resources for students to work on course-related assignments and research, or simply to “hang out” between classes. We foster a family atmosphere among students and faculty, where junior and senior majors act as big siblings to the younger students by mentoring them along.
