Full ACPE accreditation status until 2021

Mylan School of Pharmacy

The School of Pharmacy was granted full ACPE accreditation status following a recent visit by ACPE evaluators. ACPE is recognized by the US Department of Education as the national agency for the accreditation of professional degree programs in Pharmacy. The Mylan School of Pharmacy is one of 114 colleges and schools to be fully accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

According to Dean J. Douglas Bricker, the ACPE evaluators made numerous positive comments about the School, faculty, staff, student pharmacists, and preceptors. "They were impressed with the curricular revision in 18 months and the degree of cooperation among faculty in all disciplines to produce a curriculum that is so innovative, noting especially the longitudinal components of the curriculum, such as ABLE, CPD, and IPAs," Bricker said. "Two areas that they would like to mark as notable contributors are our academic partners program and the bench marking we are doing with preceptors."

He went on to say that the evaluators were impressed with the degree of collegiality that was evident among faculty, staff and students, and that it seems that "everyone is glad to be working at this institution and for the right cause of pharmacy education."

Dean Bricker said that ACPE evaluators found the Center for Pharmacy Services as an Academic Research Center to be a unique contribution to pharmacy education.
