Duquesne University's Mylan School of Pharmacy on Monday launched a five-year partnership with the Daiichi University of Pharmacy in Fukuoka, Japan.

The agreement, which provides for faculty and student exchanges as well as research collaboration, will take effect this fall, a university spokeswoman said.

Kimiko Tsuzuki, president of Daiichi University of Pharmacy and chancellor of Tsuzuki Gakuen, was in Pittsburgh to sign the agreements with Duquesne President Dr. Charles J. Dougherty, and Pharmacy Dean Dr. J. Douglas Bricker.

Duquesne's Mylan School of Pharmacy also holds affiliation agreements with the University of Perugia, Italy, and other schools of pharmacy in China, Japan and Africa.
