I've always known that I wanted to go into the healthcare field. The more I learned about pharmacy, the more I knew this was the profession for me. While there are several pharmacy schools in Buffalo, none of them had what I was looking for in a university. As soon as I set foot on Duquesne's campus, I knew this was where I wanted to go to school. The biggest thing for me was the personal attention you get here at Duquesne. The professors and the Dean all know me on a first name basis, and that's not something that you get at every school. I'm extremely passionate about clinical pharmacy and hope to work as a clinical specialist at a large academic medical center after completing a residency. I'd ideally like to work somewhere warm and near the ocean, so I can go scuba diving on my days off. I currently work as a pharmacy intern at Allegheny General Hospital and have found that I enjoy working in a hospital pharmacy much more than in community pharmacy. When I'm not at school or work, I'm back home in Niagara Falls playing with my dog and helping run our local 4-H club as an adult leader. Over the summer, I often travel to Canada and spend time on the lake swimming, hiking, waterskiing and fishing.
Founded in 1878, Duquesne is consistently ranked among the nation's top Catholic universities for its award-winning faculty and tradition of academic excellence.
