IV Sedation Certification Course
On October 11-14 and November 8-11, 2012, Michael E. Mermigas, BS Pharm, DDS, Clinical Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Director of Continuing Dental Education program, lead instructor, Dr. C. Richard Bennett, DMD, Ph.D. and team members delivered stimulating lectures and hands-on experience simulations with the SimManTM to dentists from six states, as far away as Texas. This course fulfills the requirements for dentists to apply for and receive a state permit that allows them to provide this service in their dental practice, and also, ACLS/BLS certification was provided to those who required it.
"To date, we have trained over 130 dentists to offer IV sedation to their patients. As a result of their experience at Duquesne, they can better medically evaluate their patients, increase access to care, and elevate their overall health."...Dr. Michael E. Mermigas
