Opportunities for Support
Since its founding in 1878, Duquesne University has been committed to providing educational access for all worthy students, regardless of their ability to pay. In the earliest years, the Spiritans often waived tuition entirely for students facing financial hardships. This is no longer possible in today’s complex world. Today, we depend on generous alumni and friends who support scholarship funds. Your gifts make a difference, especially for students enrolled in the fifth and sixth years of the Pharm.D. program, who often have fewer financial aid options than undergraduates. You may wish to establish your own fund at specified levels, or contribute to one of our existing scholarships:
Dean's Endowment Fund for Excellence: Funds available through support of Pharmacy alumni provide scholarship assistance to Pharmacy students with demonstrated need and academic merit.
School of Pharmacy Alumni Scholarship: Funds available through support of Pharmacy alumni provide scholarship assistance to Pharmacy students with demonstrated need and academic merit.
Hugh C. Muldoon Scholarship: Endowed fund in memory of the founding Dean of the School of Pharmacy and maintained by contributions of Pharmacy alumni.
Gerald J. Wolf Pharmacy Alumni Scholarship: Endowed fund established by Pharmacy Alumni Association in memory of Jerry Wolf, P’49, longtime member and officer of the Association and School of Pharmacy Instructor. Annual earnings of the endowed fund are designated for, and restricted to, equal distribution among the children of active Pharmacy alumni attending Duquesne, without respect to need or school of enrollment. A son or daughter of an active (minimum two years) Pharmacy alumnus who will be a full-time undergraduate student at Duquesne may apply to receive a share of the available monies. The application is to be in the form of a letter addressed to: Pharmacy Alumni Association, Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy, 600 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15282. The letter must be postmarked on or before July 1 and provide the following information: Student’s name, address, social security number, school/major, and year-in-college; Alumnus parent name, address and graduation year. Upon verification of the provided information, the student will receive an appropriate notification.
